A weekly cleaner in New Malden costs £23 an hour. If you’d rather we came every other week, it’s £24 an hour, and those rates are per cleaner. A weekly three-hour visit is therefore £69, and four hours £92. The same cleaner comes each time, which, to be honest, is what most people ring about.

Frequency Hourly rate, each cleaner
Weekly £23
Fortnightly £24

Fortnightly costs a little more since a fortnight’s grime is slower going, and those gaps are awkward to fill on the rota. There’s no call-out fee. The £67 minimum on one-off jobs doesn’t apply here, so a three-hour weekly visit, which is the shortest we book, really is £69. Ironing costs £12 an hour, added on top of the booked cleaning time.

A typical three hour visit

Worktops, the hob and the appliance fronts. Both bathrooms, if you have two. Floors vacuumed and mopped, dusting and tidying, and beds changed when you leave clean sheets out. Inside the fridge, inside the oven and the windows count as separate work. Tell your cleaner in the first couple of weeks what matters most to you, and because the same person keeps coming, it sticks. We’re a small outfit and the cleaners talk to us directly, so preferences get remembered instead of lost on a form.

Give the first visit an extra hour

First cleans always overrun. Nothing is where the cleaner expects, and one room is usually carrying a backlog. We would prefer you booked four hours to start and dropped to three than booked three and had a bathroom left half done. By the third or fourth visit the same hours cover noticeably more ground, which is really the whole case for one cleaner per house.

Keeping up with limescale

Our water comes from chalk and it is hard, and a freshly descaled shower screen starts clouding again inside a fortnight. Weekly homes keep ahead of it without trying. On a fortnightly booking the screen needs acid gel every other visit, since a wipe won’t shift it. Kettles fur up quicker than newcomers expect. Descaler is in the kit we carry, so you don’t need to buy any. The people most surprised by all this tend to be new arrivals from a soft water area.

North or south of Malden Way

The A3 runs across New Malden on a raised road with only a few places to cross, so we build each cleaner’s day on one side of it. Homes north of it, up towards the Coombe roads, are grouped together, and so are homes to the south, out towards Beverley Park and the Malden Centre. It sounds fussy. In practice it means five houses in a day where there would otherwise be four. Some of our cleaners travel on the 131 or 213 buses, and for them the grouping matters even more.

Keys, fobs and working while you’re out

Most regular customers give us a key or fit a key safe, then go off to work. If you stop, you get your key back within the week. The new blocks on the High Street usually need a fob as well, so mention the entry system when you book.

Regular cleaning and deep cleaning are separate services

These two get mixed up constantly. Regular cleaning is hourly and ongoing, for a house already in decent shape. A one-off deep clean is a team job from £186 for homes that have slipped or have just seen the builders out. If yours hasn’t had a proper clean for a year, start with that and put weekly visits on afterwards. Ovens sit apart too: your cleaner wipes the door and the top, while the inside of the cavity is a £77 job with a long soak for the racks. Carpets likewise, and carpet prices by the room are the same for regulars as for anyone else.

Cancelling, holidays and cover

Give us 24 hours’ notice and moving or skipping a visit costs nothing. Tell us your holiday dates and we skip them. When your cleaner is away we offer cover and tell you in advance who is coming. The same rates apply in Berrylands (KT5) and Motspur Park, with nothing added for distance.

Call 020 8077 6366 with roughly how often and for how long, and we’ll price it on the phone. Our prices page has the full list, and the home page sets out the other services.

Questions we get asked

What does a regular cleaner cost in New Malden?

£23 an hour for each cleaner weekly, £24 fortnightly. A three-hour weekly visit comes to £69 and four hours to £92, with no call-out fee on top.

Will it be the same cleaner?

Yes. Someone who has cleaned your kitchen twenty times does it faster and better than a stranger would. If they go on holiday we send cover and let you know beforehand.

What is the shortest visit?

Three hours, which is £69 on a weekly booking. Any shorter and travel eats the time. Most homes here book three or four hours a week.

Do you supply products and equipment?

Yes, descaler for the hard water included. Anyone with an allergy, or a surface that needs a particular product, can leave their own bottles out for us to use.

Can I have a cleaner every three weeks?

We can, charged at the fortnightly £24 rate, though we’d nudge you towards fortnightly. After three weeks a bathroom here needs real work rather than upkeep, so you end up paying for extra hours.

Are you insured?

Yes, we hold public liability insurance for domestic work, and it applies whether you’re home or we’re working on a key.
