Old Malden is where the name started. The original village sits around St John the Baptist church on the Hogsmill, long predating the railway town to the north that borrowed its name. The postcode is KT4, shared with Worcester Park, and the council is Kingston. We cover it all from one list, with weekly cleaning at £23 an hour per cleaner and tenancy cleans from £156 to £425.
Settled houses, weekly visits
Regular housework is the backbone of our work here, because these are family homes where people stay, not rented flats that change hands every year. Weekly cleaning costs £23 an hour per cleaner, or £24 fortnightly, so a three-hour weekly visit is £69. The same cleaner comes every time. Ovens and carpets follow, and a tenancy clean when a family finally sells.
| Job | Price |
|---|---|
| Weekly cleaning, per cleaner hour | £23 |
| Three-hour weekly visit | £69 |
| Single oven | £77 |
| Double oven | £110 |
| Tenancy clean, 3 bedrooms | £339 |
What chalk water does to a bathroom
The supply here is hard, off the chalk, and it’s what our regulars grumble about most. A shower screen clouds within a fortnight of descaling, kettles fur, and a washing machine element collects a coating that shortens its life. On screens and taps we use an acid gel, because an all-purpose spray removes the film on top and leaves the scale sitting underneath. We bring it with us, and it’s in the price.
Tenancy cleans at the fixed rates
These go by bedrooms. A studio is £156, a one bed £207, a two bed £243, and the three and four bed rates are £339 and £425. A tenancy clean covers the whole property, including the limescale in the bathrooms. The oven adds £31, so a three bed with it done is £370. If a clerk marks down something we cleaned, let us know within 48 hours and we’ll come back. Carpets are extra by the room, at £29 a bedroom and £35 a flight when they share the booking, where the agent wants them extracted.
Ovens, older cookers included
Singles are £77 and doubles £110, with 90cm ranges at £143. Racks and trays soak while we work on the cavity and door glass by hand, and you can cook that evening. Village houses here still quite often have an older freestanding cooker with a separate grill, and those take longer than a modern fan oven, because grease builds up in the grill pan runners where nobody looks. Anything that would need a gas disconnection is cleaned in place.
Neighbours and getting here
We come down from New Malden, a short and easy morning run. Your neighbour to the east is Worcester Park, sharing KT4 but not always the same council. Nothing is added to the price for distance. Ring 020 8077 6366 for a quote on the spot, or go to our home page for the other services.
Questions we get asked
Do you cover the streets down by the Hogsmill?
Yes, all of KT4 on the Kingston side of the river. There’s no travel charge anywhere on the round, so whether you live by the church or up near the main road, the price is the same.
How much is weekly cleaning in Old Malden?
Each cleaner is £23 an hour on a weekly booking (£24 if fortnightly), so our usual three-hour visit costs £69. No call-out fee, and that three hours doubles as the minimum we book.
Can you shift limescale from a screen left for years?
Usually a good deal of it. Acid gel with time to work removes the scale itself.
Do I need to be home for a regular clean?
No, and most people are out. Give us a key, or put in a key safe. Keys come back to you within the week if you stop.
How far ahead do you book up?
Two or three days for most jobs. Month ends are busiest for tenancy cleans, and August most of all, so a late August check-out needs six weeks’ notice.
