Cleaners in Berrylands

Berrylands is KT5, west of New Malden on the way to Surbiton, mostly interwar semis gathered round its own small station. The roads are quiet and people tend to stay. That shapes what we do here: weekly cleaning at £23 an hour per cleaner is the bulk of it, with carpets from £36 a room next.

Most of the work is regular

One house shape, repeated

Bay front, hall, two reception rooms (knocked through or not), kitchen at the back, and often a side return filled in. Three bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. We’ve cleaned enough of these to know how long one takes, so quotes here are quick and rarely off. Where the ground floor has gone over to wood, as most have, a carpet booking means bedrooms at £36 and stairs at £41.

The fixed tenancy list applies here as everywhere, and a tenancy clean takes care of the bathroom limescale at no extra cost. An oven is the usual add-on, at £31. One-off jobs carry a £67 minimum, which most bookings pass without anyone noticing.

When a house needs more than a weekly visit

Usually after building work, or when a home has been lived in lightly for a long time and quietly slipped. A one-off deep clean is a team job billed at £26 per cleaner-hour with £30 on top for equipment. Three hours with two cleaners comes to £186; a fourth hour takes it to £238. It reaches inside cupboards, behind the fridge and washing machine, along the tops of units and into the grout with a brush. Follow it with weekly visits and the house stays that way for far less money.

Parking and short notice

Most roads have driveways and the rest have unrestricted kerb space, so the van parks by the door and nothing needs carrying far. That saves about twenty minutes on a carpet job. It also means a Berrylands booking can take a late cancellation slot at short notice, with no permit to sort first.

Nearby

Surbiton lies just beyond, to the west, and Kingston’s university sends students into shared houses on the Norbiton side, but Berrylands itself stays settled, which is why our diary here is mostly the same houses week after week. Not on a regular visit, where the time goes on surfaces and floors. Inside cupboards and drawers is part of deep cleans and tenancy cleans, and both include it.
