Monster Cleaning New Malden is a small outfit that cleans homes across KT3 and the neighbouring KT2, KT4, KT5 and SW20 streets. Tenancy cleans and regular housework fill most of our week, with carpets and ovens fitted in between. A tenancy clean is priced by bedrooms from £156, and a weekly cleaner costs £23 an hour. We work one patch, and we’d like to keep it that way.

Four kinds of house in one town

The oldest homes are nearest the railway. On its north side you’ll find late-Victorian and Edwardian terraces put up for City clerks, mostly two or three bedrooms with a narrow hall and, fairly often, the old tiles hidden under newer flooring. Beyond those the interwar years take over, with wide roads of bay-fronted semis around Malden Green, Blagdon Road and Cavendish Road, and very few of them still without a rear extension.

On the High Street, new flats now stand where shops once did, with one scheme alone providing more than two hundred. Up the hill towards Coombe the houses get large and sit back from wooded private roads. A two bed tenancy clean costs £243 in any of these, but the time it takes varies with every type.

The same face at the door

Wherever the rota allows, the same cleaner goes back to the same home. Customers like it, and it’s quicker, because someone who already knows where the bin bags live doesn’t spend ten minutes hunting for them. If your cleaner is on holiday or off sick, we ring first and let you pick between a stand-in and a new date, so no stranger ever arrives out of the blue.

Our own machines and materials

Every job comes with our own machines and materials, so you don’t need to buy anything or stay in if you’d prefer to leave a key. Keys we hold are returned within the week if you stop. The vacuum is commercial grade, the carpet machine does hot water extraction, and the oven team brings professional products for soaking the racks. None of that fits under a sink, which is the honest reason a deep clean has a £30 kit charge and an hour of regular cleaning doesn’t.

Prices you can read first

Tenancy cleans are fixed by the size of the property and agreed beforehand, with studios at £156 and four bed homes at £425. Regular cleaning costs £23 an hour for each cleaner weekly or £24 fortnightly. A deep clean is £26 an hour per cleaner plus £30 for equipment, so £186 gets you two cleaners for three hours. Every figure is printed on our prices page for anyone to read, and nothing moves on the day unless you ask for extra work.

Hard water is half of every bathroom

Our supply comes from a chalk aquifer and it is hard, so bathrooms take longer than kitchens here. Screens cloud, glass splashbacks film over, and a crust of white grows under the taps. Inventory clerks in KT3 know this and photograph screens and taps early on. Newcomers from soft water towns tend to ring, puzzled, when the screen looks tired again two weeks on. Dealt with every week, scale is a minor chore. Leave it six months and it turns into a scraping job with acid gel and half an hour of effort.

Kitchens near the High Street

New Malden High Street is the centre of Europe’s largest Korean community, and the cooking around it is hot and oily. Sesame and soy settle on hoods and cupboard doors more heavily than in a typical suburb, and marinade sugar chars onto oven floors, so a first oven and hood clean in those kitchens takes longer than usual. We don’t charge extra; it’s local work, and once that first clean is done a yearly visit keeps it in check. Some restaurants and bakeries on the High Street use us for degreasing, which we quote per site, separate from the domestic list.

Planning the round

Malden Way crosses the town on a raised road with few ways over it, so we split each day into a northern and a southern half, and Raynes Park runs on Merton’s rules rather than Kingston’s. Anything that needs the van gets a two hour arrival window, planned around those crossings.

Putting a check-out query right

If a clerk marks down something from a move-out clean, call 020 8077 6366 within 48 hours and we’ll return to re-clean it, free. That route is quicker for everybody than trading emails. The contact page lists our hours, and our terms cover the rest, including cancellations and liability.

Where we go

New Malden itself, and out into the surrounding neighbourhoods, with the same prices everywhere and nothing added for the drive. The areas page covers the whole round, and our services page sets out the five jobs we take on.

Priced before we start. Every time.
